Mitt Romney on the issues

Many leading Republican contenders in the race for the presidency have signed an anti-abortion pledge. The statement was developed and circulated by those responsible for the pro-life Susan B. Anthony list. The pledge is attached to the issue of individual Constitutional rights as they relate to abortion.

Once again, in the urgent state of an administration which would prefer to lay aside the Constitution of the United States altogether, with a president who has appointed multiple “judges” who agree with him about the Constitution, the Republicans get heated up about their own class distinction which has protected them from the dilemma of what to do with unwanted pregnancies.

Folks, please do something practical. Present a new case before the Supreme Court of America about abortion, introduce a bill before Congress to take issue with what states license doctors to do, pose a Constitutional Amendment, but please do not relegate law and order in the United States to a technological issue for which there is no ethical, moral, or religious “once upon a time” ending.

If Representative Michele Bachmann was adamant about wiping out world hunger, if Ron Paul of Texas was introducing an acceptable health care plan (to at least cover American children), if Tim Pawlenty could say that doctors in Minnesota are not enjoying the livelihood of drug company stock options, if Newt Gingrich wasn’t there when HMO’s replaced physician licensure, and if former Senator Rick Santorum was passionate about public education in cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, we could listen to and understand their  concerns for unborn children.

No one likes to see American women and girls in the position to have to decide to get an abortion. However, as the song says, “Papa don’t preach”.

Romney’s home web page is posing some legitimate questions for America. The Republican candidate asks If America the only country that believes in free enterprise? Evidently, Mitt Romney is not aware of the forms and the taxes that small businesses contend with. The takeovers were not free enterprise.

He asks if Putin is an authoritarian leader. President Obama feels that as a member of an allied offensive, he does not need to consult representative government in America about major war expenditures. Is Turkey a democracy? Is the Syrian leader authoritarian? What about Sudan?

Has America looked to Europe for economic solutions rather than the traditions of American business? President Obama just told the visiting leader of Germany that the Republicans are responsible for the national debt.
