Mitt Romney appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning and bashed former President Bill Clinton by saying that Clinton embarrassed the nation with his Monica Lewinsky affair. While those words are hard to argue with, he did have something else to say which the Clintons - especially Hillary - will be glad to hear. On the positive side for the Clintons, Romney also said that he does not believe that Clinton’s scandal regarding Monica Lewinsky will be much of an issue for Clinton’s wife Hillary if she should decide to run for president in 2016. According to Yahoo! News on Sunday, Romney had quite a bit to say about the political couple – the Clintons.

Romney also said that he thinks Hillary Clinton will have plenty to discuss about her own record – should she decide to run in for the White House. He said that he doesn’t imagine that Bill Clinton is going to be a big part of the discussion should she decide to run.

Regarding the still-popular former president, Romney said that Clinton breached his responsibility as an adult and as a leader in his relationship. He concluded that the entire Clinton-Lewinski affair was “very unfortunately.”

As one will remember, Clinton and Lewinsky had a sexual relationship, including a rendezvous in the Oval Office at the White House in the 1990s. After denying and then admitting to the relationship, Clinton was impeached in 1998 and eventually acquitted of the charges on the impeachment.

Romney has also said that he doesn’t believe the courts should be deciding about same-sex marriage issues because, he asserts, it should be the will of the people on that issue. He made it clear during his failed presidential campaign in 2011 that he is staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage.
