Mitt Romney at CPAC: 'Defeating President Obama is the easy part'

During the CPAC convention, Mitt Romney needed to make a splash in front of important conservatives to show that he isn't the "flip-flopper" they make him out to be, but instead a true conservative. Like the other speakers before him, Romney decided to run down President Obama to get a few quick cheers. While being confident is important, being cocky might not be the way to go. Not only did Romney say that President Obama will be defeated in November, but that it won't be too hard either.

Mitt Romney: "defeating Barrack Obama is the easy part.....(the) last gasp of liberalism's great failure and the turning point of conservatism"
Romney continued with the bashing of President Obama.
Mitt Romney: "Barrack Obama is the poster child for the arrogance of government"
Mitt Romney has made it clear that he is feeling the pressure, not just from the media and his opponents, but also his party. Romney knows he needs to turn heads and convince conservatives that he is the man for the job. Romney told the crowd that they had a choice between two different Americas.

Mitt Romney: "whether we want a nation of and by a government or a nation of and by a free people"
Romney received loud cheers from the crowd during his speech, especially when he talked about his time as a business man and Governor of Massachusetts. Romney did get a thunderous applauds when he talked about how he fought back against gay-marriage in Massachusetts and his desire as president to pass an amendment that states marriage is only between a mad and a woman. Romney even talked about teaching abstinence in school, his opposition towards abortion and de-funding Planned Parenthood. The speech continued as Romney spoke of his ideas of raising the retirement age and privatizing social security and medicare while stopping the alleged "War on Religion."

Romney did a solid job speaking to those who share his beliefs, but the reality is that once Romney leaves the "safe zone" of the conservative crowds and walks out in front of the rest of America, the cheers might turn to many jeers and Romney might be back on his heels again.
