It was announced that Mistura 2014, the premier gastronomic fair of Latin America, will be held from September 5th to 14th in the Costa Verde of Magdalena del Mar in Lima, Peru, the same location as last year.
This year Mistura will focus on the theme of "Biodiversity and Nutrition" and the veritable national pantry of the region. Small farmers, healthy diet, and the malnutrition problems of the world will be discussed.
The Grand Market will remain as the heart of the fair and "huariques," restaurants and trucks will be grouped according to Worlds as in other years, with added attractions that will make this year's event more unique. After a successful first edition, Mistura 2014 will host the II International Gastronomic Meeting, from September 5th - 7th, with the participation of some of the world's most renowned chefs. Last year big names including Alain Ducasse, Rene Redzepi, Albert Adria, Andoni Aduriz, Alex Atala, Massimo Bottura, Davide Scabin, Blaine Wetzel, Daniel Patterson, Daniel Humm, Jose Andres, and Peruvian chefs such as Gaston Acurio, Virgilio Martinez, Rodolfo Guzmán and others were in attendance.
The Peruvian Society of Gastronomy (Apega in Spanish) is responsible for hosting this event, attended by thousands of national and foreign visitors every year. More details about Mistura 2014 regarding participants, international guests, competitions, and ticket sales will be released later this year. It is an event worth attending and an eye opening experience, picking up more momentum each following year.
