Cheating husbands spend three times more money on their mistresses’ Valentine’s Day gifts than they spend on their wives, according to a survey conducted by Ashley Madison, the premiere online dating service for married men who want to cheat.

Popular Mistress Gifts for Valentine’s Day
Flowers, of course are a traditional Valentine’s Day Gift for both the wife and the mistress.
But the bouquet of flowers the cheater buys for his mistress will be far more creative, more lavish and more expensive than the flowers he chooses for his wife.

Apart from flowers, the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts for a cheating man to give his mistress are:
- Jewelry- diamonds, anything heart shaped, or anything engraved with sentiments of love
- Lingerie– silk or satin, the preferred color is red, closely followed by black
- Spa services– gift cards for a day or weekend of pampering at a local day spa, or an all expensed paid vacation at a world class spa
The three most popular gifts from cheating men to their wives are
- perfume
- bath and body products
- gift cards - usually to a local on online store so she can choose what she wants herself.
Notice that the three most popular gifts for wives tend to be less expensive than the gifts the cheating man’s mistress can expect.

Not only does the mistress get the most expensive gift on Valentine’s Day, my research, as a nationally-recognized infidelity expert, reveals that the mistress receives her gift in a more romantic setting, as indicated below.
3 Romantic Settings for Giving the Mistress Her Valentine’s Gift
A cheating man’s Valentine’s gift to his mistress is usually given to her in a much more romantic setting – a fancy restaurant, a nice hotel, or over a candlelit dinner at her home.
SCENARIO #1 – The Home of his Mistress
Along with his Valentine’s Day gift (or gifts), the cheating man has probably also brought along a bottle of fine wine to accompany the romantic dinner his mistress has prepared, or a bottle of celebratory champagne.Usually the cheater’s mistress greets him at the door wearing something seductive enough to “light his fire” in anticipation of the passionate evening ahead.
SCENARIO #2 – A High Class Hotel
As an alternate location, the lover’s rendezvous may take place in the honeymoon suite of an elegant hotel. Champagne and a sumptuous feast from room service may also be included as part of their illicit afternoon or evening of love.
It’s usually scenario #1 or scenario #2 in which Valentine’s Day gifts of lingerie are given to the mistress, since it can be a bit awkward for the cheater to give her lingerie in scenario #3, described below
SCENARIO #3 – An Upscale Restaurant
If time is an issue, the cheater may give his mistress a Valentine’s Day gift of jewelry over lunch or dinner at an upscale restaurant.
