Hot 97 DJ Mister Cee is gracing the latest cover of GQ Magazine. The legendary DJ, who left the station do to struggles with prostitution, took the opportunity to open up about his ongoing issues and to address his sexuality. According to a report by MTV on Jan. 22, Mister Cee exposes his emotional conflicts in the interview with GQ.

As it was just last September that the popular DJ announced his struggles with prostitution on his “Throwback At Noon” radio show, Mister Cee has been absent from the public eye after his sexuality came into question, especially after it was revealed that his solicitation of prostitution involved a transsexual.

In the interview, Mister Cee opened up about when and how his struggles began. Once the news got out, he worried about his career and how he would be perceived. He knew he had to address his ongoing issues and resigned from the radio station. He says in the interview:

“It wasn’t even about losing the job. I was just afraid of what the perception was going to be about me and that people was still going to want to stand behind the Mister Cee brand. How was I going to be able to continue to support and take care of the people that I care about?”

After admitting to receiving fellatio from transgendered individuals, rumors did open about the hip-hop DJ legend being on the down low, a term used for individuals who present themselves as heterosexual, but secretly engage in homosexual activities.

He maintains in the interview that he is not gay and his encounters were strictly about sex. He explains:

“And it’s nothing – it’s no offense to transgender women, but I only get with transgender women for one thing and one thing only, and that’s for oral sex. Like I said: I never had sex with a man. I never had sex with a transgender woman.”

The 47-year-old DJ also admitted that he is not ready to pursue a relationship on any level until he resolves his problems and legal trouble.

“At this point in my life, I can’t even begin to try to be in a serious relationship with a woman. That’s the point that I’m at now: What do I want? Where am I at? Now that it’s in the open – everybody knows, I know – where am I going from here?”

Mister Cee, who has played a pivotal role in careers of hip hop stars like the Notorious B.I.G, has to now turn his attention to the career of someone else seeking a fresh start: himself.
