A Missouri witness reports watching a silent, slow-moving V-shaped object that "distorted the stars around it" as it moved overhead, according to June 24, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness stated that the object was moving north and toward St. Louis.
The witness described the object as "huge."
"No lights - but the object was huge," the witness stated. "It moved slowly and you could see the surrounding stars but it was like looking at them under water - or a better description is putting a glass in water and peering at objects in the water through the glass."
The sighting duration was five minutes and was lost from sight as it moved behind a local hospital.
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 24, 2011. The incident occurred on March 13, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report.
Missouri is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Missouri had 12 reports in May 2011 - and remains on our Watch List - while California had 55 UFO reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

MO, March 13, 2011 - the object was more v-shaped than triangle and traveled north toward St. Louis the shape distorted the stars around it, no lights were visible. MUFON Case # 29704.
It happened when I went on break at the hospital where I work, I was coming back from break and was walking back to the hospital from my car and I glanced up at the sky, something was different so I scanned the sky more carefully and there was a v-shaped object flying south to north over the hospital, no lights but the object was huge, it moved slowly and you could see the surrounding stars but it was like looking at them under water-or a better description is putting a glass in water and peering at objects in the water through the glass.
anyway the object was moving slowly and it made absolutely no sound at all. I watched it for approximately 5 min until the hospital blocked my view.
