The 6-foot-8, 210-pound Gant is currently ranked the nation's No. 37 overall prospect and seventh best power forward according to ESPN Recruiting Nation.
Gant is a stretch forward with lots of upside due to his size and shooting prowess. He also has very good footwork and solid post moves. In addition, Gant can score with either hand around the bucket and is a very quick leaper.
Gant needs to add bulk and muscle to his frame so he can battle down low more.
Gant averaged 17.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.2 blocked shots for Effingham County in 2012-13. He shot 50 percent from the floor, 64 percent from the free throw line and 35 percent from the three-point line.
Gant also had Georgia, Miami, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Louisville on his list of final list.
Gant's commitment is Missouri's second in the Class of 2014, as three-star small forward Chris Sandifer (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra) committed to the Tigers on June 28. The Tigers also have made offers to 2014 prospects Devin Booker (Moss Point, Miss./Moss Point), Goodluck Okonboh (Boston, Mass./Wilbraham and Monson), Joe Burton (Porter, Texas/ Lutheran North), Marlon Jones (Chicago, Ill./Orr Academy) and Paul Turner (Bellwood, Ill./Saint Joseph). Booker and Okonboh are both five-star recruits according to ESPN while Burton and Jones are four-star recruits. Turner is a two-star recruit.
