The 2013 NCAA football live stream and televised games begin at and after 12 p.m. EST on Saturday, with many of the top-ranked teams in the country taking the field. Among them will be the #14 South Carolina Gamecocks as they host Mississippi State. The latest televised and live streaming NCAA football schedule games will be presented by ESPN's various services.
According to ESPN.com on Nov. 2, quarterback Connor Shaw is likely to play in today’s game despite being banged up. Today’s game will be one of four conference games left and the Gamecocks still have a shot at the SEC title. They arrive into this matchup able to outlast No.5 Missouri last weekend in a 27-24 double overtime thriller. Their coach, Steve Spurrier, wants them to focus on the game at hand and forget about the big win last week. He told the media:
"We know we were very fortunate last week, and we are trying not to harp on it, talk about it. It's history, it's in the record books and now we have to try to play our best against Mississippi State.
I still don't think our team has played as well as we are capable."
South Carolina enters with a record of 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC, with a 3-0 home record. Mississippi State is 0-2 on the road with a 4-3 record overall and a 1-2 record in the SEC. The two teams played back in 2011 and the Gamecocks took that game 14-12 thanks to a fourth quarter touchdown pass from Connor Shaw to Alshon Jeffrey. Shaw has completed 112-of-174 passes for 1,508 yards and fourteen touchdowns this season. Running back Mike Davis has 151 carries for 930 yards and ten touchdowns. While South Carolina doesn’t rank among the top ten or even 25 in any offensive or defensive categories, they’ve managed to get enough wins to stay relevant to the SEC title.
State also enters this game off a tight win last weekend, as they defeated Kentucky 28-22 at home. Quarterback Dak Prescott had 268 yards passing on 23-of-34 completed passes, along with two touchdowns. On the season he’s racked up 1,158 yards total, but only five touchdowns. Prescott has been sacked just as many times as he has TD’s, and has 3 interceptions. The Bulldogs may excel more so on the ground, ranking 32nd in the nation with 205.4 yards per game. Ironically, Prescott leads in that category as he’s one of the more mobile QB’s in the nation and has 490 yards and 8 touchdowns there. Ladarius Perkins has also added in 338 yards and a touchdown on 67 carries this season.
Today’s favorite is the #14 team in the nation, the South Carolina Gamecocks. They’re favored by as many as 13 points at some sports books, with the over/under for the game set at 52 points. Kickoff temperature is expected to be 64 degrees under partly sunny skies. Both Connor Shaw and running back Mike Davis are probables for today’s game.
Saturday's Mississippi State vs. South Carolina football game has a start time of 12:21 p.m. EST. The game will be available on TV for subscribers of the ESPN GamePlan service, and to some local stations in the two teams’ areas. In addition, the game will be live streaming for fans across the United States on the ESPN3 sports broadband network, starting at 12:21 p.m. EST.
