The dJournal.com, Northeast Mississippi News, proudly announced today, Jan. 6, 2013, that the second season of "Gator Boys" was filmed on the Mississippi coast. Season 2 of Animal Planet's hit show premieres tonight at 9 p.m. EST. Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle will be saving alligators that were misplaced by Hurricane Katrina, and these gators will be bigger and meaner than any that they have met in the Florida Everglades.
dJournal quotes the Animal Planet press release about the "Gator Boys" upcoming season:
"While their Florida rescue location undergoes a major renovation, Paul and Jimmy lend their expertise to some Southern friends and teach Mississippians the art of gator wrestling," a press release from Animal Planet said.
Paul Bedard, always wearing his blue bandana, is accustomed to getting in the water with the alligators, and it will be interesting to see if he continues this practice in the murky, muddy waters of Mississippi. Jimmy Riffle is the barefooted guy with the hat who has been wrestling alligators since he was eleven. On land or in the water, the guys know the danger in which they operate. Animal Planet has the following quote from Paul Bedard on one of the alligator photos:
"If I make the wrong grab, he'd reach over and take the top of my head off like pulling the cap off a beer bottle."
The new season starts tonight at 9 p.m. EST, and they are playing a marathon of re-runs today for those who want to get the background of the series. Mississippi is proud to have the "Gator Boys" this season, and you will see why the first time you tune in to watch.
