The Mission Green Light (MGL) non-profit organization founder is Rafi Munim. Rafi also has an informative online digital paper with the Glenview Patch. The president of MGL is Thomas R. Murphy, who previously was the president of the organization Building Unity Through Diversity.
The Mission Green Light's main mission is to assist aged, uninsured, and the underprivileged. Their non-profit organization was incorporated 2002 in Illinois. They have partnered this year with Jewel/Osco in providing a Heart Evaluation Program at a subsidized low pricing for those in need (half provided by MGL).
Heart disease is the main killer in the United States for both men and women. Cholesterol screening is one of the best ways to preventing this disease. MGL also assists in free breast cancer screenings (exam & mammograms), cervical cancer screening (pap & pelvic), and diabetes screening. Supporting clinics work hand-in-hand with MGL for free cancer detecting. They also provide follow-up if cancer is detected, and they continue helping walk cancer victims through to treatments (upon eligibility) and providing additional guidance through troublesome times.
Dominick's has worked with MGL in the past to provide low cost flu shots when the epidemic arouse previously in the communities. The MGL non-profit also assists the community in need with tax assistance for free.
The MGL organization has an inaugural yearly magazine (both hard copy and digital). The publishing will be coming out soon and is called "Rhythmic Consciousness".
