“ So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
In Part I, the emphasis was on the guaranteed and purposeful mission of God’s word. The scriptures in Part I (Isaiah 55:10-11) encourages us to have confidence in the words that proceeds from the mouth of God. As we read throughout the scriptures we can find many occurrences where God spoke (sent forth His word) and His word never returned to Him void (without producing any effect, useless) but rather, His word accomplished that which pleased Him.
Throughout Genesis Chapter One, God willfully spoke everything into existence. In this chapter, God’s will was the blueprint and His voice was the architect, uniting to join forces to create the heavens and the earth (Hebrews 11:3). God said “let there be light” and His word did not return unto Him void. The manifestation of light pleased God and He declared it to be good. As we continue to read throughout creation we clearly see the words of God going forth to accomplish everything He purposed.
Our lack of peace and joy can be contributed to our lack of understanding and knowledge of the infallible Word of God (The Holy Bible). The more of His Word we know, the more understanding we gain, ultimately the closer we are to God.
Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 (Amplified Bible)
What is a man’s word worth? Well…that would depend on the man. But with God His word is true and unfailing. In the Word of God we can find counsel and refuge. When we lose our way, we can find direction. When we feel disheartened, we can find encouragement. When we are weakened, our faith is renewed.
Every word of God is tried and purified; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him. Proverbs 30:5 (Amplified Bible)
Remember: God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? Numbers 23:19 (Amplified Bible).
