After finally getting all three girls dressed in real clothes (as opposed to Spiderman costumes) and watching this very helpful video on YouTube, we set out to our local Lowes for strawberry planting supplies yesterday. This whole endeavor was a result of a fundraiser at my 6-year-old's school. Remember when we were little and sold chocolate bars to raise funds? Yeah, well, apparently schools don't do that anymore. Which is a bummer, because I love me some World's Finest Chocolate, and would have bought a case (or three) without hesitation. You're welcome, John Dower Elementary. At any rate, Ava brought home a catalog of all kinds of products and the strawberry plants were the only thing that caught my eye. So away we went and for just under $40 we got three pairs of gardening gloves, some potting soil and a really pretty ceramic strawberry pot. Please do not tell me if these items should have been like, $15 because I will cry. Especially since I found two strawberry pots out by the tool shed in the backyard when we got home. So check out the slideshow and I will keep you posted on our little plants' development.
