Missing Utah mom, Susan Powell made plans to leave husband Josh. Friends of Susan Powell have come forward to say that she put a plan in place to leave her husband, Josh Powell. Susan told her friends that she set up her own bank account, prepared for a place to stay if she left her husband, and wrote up an informal will about a year ago, according to Fox News. Susan told her friends that she wanted to make sure someone knew about her plans.
It has been more than two weeks since Susan Powell was seen near her Salt Lake City, Utah home. Her husband stated that he took their two children (ages 2 and 4) camping at 12:30 am when the temperature was below freezing. Susan was reported missing the same day, by her family, after she failed to drop off the kids at daycare and show up at work.
The police named Josh Powell a person of interest in the case. Two days after Susan was reported missing, Josh traveled hundreds of miles in a rental car, after the police had his minivan in custody for evidence. The police are trying to determine where he went, and the car did not have a GPS tracking device on it.
Josh Powell's father has defended Josh and said that he is appalled by the way Josh is being treated: "The whole thing has just turned into a vilification of Josh and it will turn into a vilification of me, my ex-wife and my other kids," Steven Powell said. "I'm not making any statement because it doesn't matter how benign it is or how supportive it is. Somebody will twist it around."
On Monday, the police reported that an anonymous donor offered up to $10,000 for original information that may lead them to Susan Powell.
