A missing nursing student by the name of Jasmine Joseph recently vanished without a trace, and police have revealed this week that very few leads exist at this time. The 22-year-old student attended the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), though a secret surrounding her mystery disappearance — Joseph was no longer an active student at NYIT during her most recent semester — has only just come to light. The Inquisitr provides the latest details in this sad case this Thursday, March 6, 2014.
Feb. 24, 2014, was the last day that missing nursing student Jasmine Joseph was seen by her friends or family. The New York Institute of Technology attendee was said to be last heard from talking to her mother on the phone. School officials have only just made it known, however, that unknown to her parents, Joseph was not an active student at NYIT during Fall 2013.
Jasmine Joseph was last said to attend a formal nursing class in May 2013. According to the press release, 22-year-old Jasmine seemed to be happy and proud to be attending nursing school just as her mother had. Her parents were said to be “stunned” to learn that she had dropped out of classes this last semester without a word to them.
The mystery disappearance case surrounding the missing nursing student continues with almost no leads being present at this time, say law enforcement officials. However, they do not suspect that any criminal involvement is involved. Jasmine Joseph is said to be a longtime resident of Long Island who recently began attending the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) to study nursing. She was always a straight A student, added her parents, before vanishing. While it may seem strange to think that her family had no clue she wasn’t taking classes, Joseph had charged over $6,000 on their credit card to pay for the Fall semester, so it’s unknown why she wasn't in school.
The school has since provided a formal statement following Jasmine’s disappearance:
“The NYIT community has recently learned of the disappearance of one of our former students, Jasmine Joseph, who until May 2013 was a student in the nursing program. We have been in contact and are cooperating with Jasmine’s family, who are actively seeking her whereabouts. Many students and staff members are helping to spread the word and share photos, in hopes that the public will recognize this young woman and contact her family or the authorities. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.”
Investigators continue to search for the missing nursing student. As provided by her family, Jasmine was not known to have a boyfriend. Her friends and family have provided flyers and are asking the public for help in locating their suddenly vanished loved one.
