A missing 26-year-old woman was found dead Thursday morning in Lilburn – and police said they are investigating her death as a homicide.

Surveyors working in the area found Ms. Angela Rabotte’s body around 10:30 a.m. in a wooded area near the intersection of Lilburn Industrial Way and Arcado Road, according to Gwinnett County police.

Police suspect foul play in the woman’s death, police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said in a news release. But he has not released any details on the condition of the woman’s body and it was unclear late Thursday what caused her death.

Ms. Rabotte was reported missing on Sunday, Cpl. Smith said. She had dropped off her 3-year old daughter with a friend on Friday and attended a party in Atlanta late that night, Cpl. Smith said.

Ms. Rabotte was last seen on Saturday around 6 a.m. in the Steeplechase Apartments parking lot at 5940 Singleton Road near Norcross, Cpl. Smith said.

It’s unclear what she was doing there.

The Lilburn police department will be assisting in the investigation to determine what happened.
