The search for a missing mom and her two children from Florida ends sadly when the Volusia County Sheriff's Office confirmed they were dead on Thursday.
Yessenia Suarez, 28, her son Michael Otto, 8 and her daughter Thalia Otto, 9, went missing Tuesday night from Deltona. Deputies conducted a well-being check on them at their Covent Gardens Place home, but found no one there, reports WFTV News.
On Wednesday, Suarez's husband, Luis Toledo, 31, was arrested and held in the Volusia County Jail on domestic-violence battery charges, reports the Orlando Sentinel. Police have called him a person of interest in the disappearance of Yessenia and her two children.
Luis admitted to slapping Yessenia in the face at her job at American K-9 Detection Services in Lake Mary. He told police he was upset about texts messages he found on Yessenia's phone and went to her job to tell a manager about it and ended up slapping her.
Authorities are continuing their search for the bodies of Suarez and her two children. Investigators would not reveal how they knew she and her children were dead or how it happened.
"It's a very sensitive investigation, said Brandon Haught Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. "We've been following leads wherever they may take us.
