Update: The Fannin County sheriff said that the bodies of Harold and Sue Harpst and Regina Taunton were in a pasture 11 miles south of Sherman near state Highway 1 and FM 1417.
Harold and Sue Harpst and their daughter Regina Taunton have been missing since January 8th from the 14000 block of State Highway 78 near Leonard, Texas in Fannin County. The couple left for church and that was the last they were seen.
The Fannin County Sheriff's Office said they received a tip on Wednesday that three people might be missing. The Sheriff's office did not say where the tip came from.
According to Fox 4, one neighbor said that Hapst's stepson, Thomas Taunton, 52, called on Tuesday and asked him to look out for the animals because he couldn't find his parents.
Deputies went to check on the family and no one answered the door. The deputies entered the home and saw evidence of foul play. They also noted that the truck belonging to Taunton was missing.
Authorities were looking for the truck when they received information from a deputy in Louisiana that the truck had been tracked down to a Ford dealer in Stonewall.
Three days later, Taunton, was arrested for suspicion of murdering his step parents and his sister.
Investigators are currently searching for a trailer that Taunton was allegedly hauling. They believe that the bodies of the missing family may be in the trailer.
No information nor description has been released regarding the trailer.
