Missing elderly couple found alive by Suffolk Police

A missing elderly couple for which a Silver Alert had been issued from Monroe, New Jersey were located today by police in Eastport. 

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Officer Kevin Wustenhoff of SCPD's SAFE-T (Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team) Section, spotted an erratic 2002 Buick driving eastbound on Montauk Highway in Eastport. After pulling over the vehicle, the officer discovered that both the driver and passenger were disoriented. The male driver appeared to be having a health problem that required medical attention.  The couple were taken by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of pre-existing medical conditions.

After conducting a Silver Alert search, Officer Wustenhoff discovered that the driver, William Grainger, 74, and his wife, Juanita Grainger, 83, had been issued Silver Alerts by the Monroe Township Police Department in Middlesex County of New Jersey.

Monroe Police and the Graingers' couple’s family have been notified.
