----- UPDATE: Thursday, August 26 - FOUND & SAFE! --------
At 6:30am this morning, Tina's owners, Larraine and Joe, notified Syracuse Food that they had been able to successfully locate, approach and catch Tina. She had been sleeping on a porch in the Elm Hill area in Camillus. Neighbors notified the owners that Tina was running in that area. When approached by Joe early this morning, Tina came to him. The owners report that Tina appears none the worse for her adventure, and thank all of the neighbors who helped locate her.

Kindred Spirits Greyhound Rescue just alerted Syracuse Dog Training that a whippet named Tina is missing in the Camillus area. Tina (see photo) was last seen near the intersection of Richards Rd. and Sunnyfields Dr. in Camillus, west of Syracuse. Tina, who is wearing a grey and pink patterned collar, has been missing since 6pm on Tuesday, August 24.
Tina's owners report that she's about 28 pounds. The missing whippet is white with butterscotch/orange markings on her back and ears and has a pink nose. She can be a little nervous about coming to people. However the owners report that their missing whippet will eat almost any type of treat, and may come to other dogs.
--- UPDATE, Wednesday, August 25, 2:45pm ---
Tina's owners report that their missing whippet was last spotted about 2pm between Richlee Dr. and Stonehedge Elementary School. The missing whippet seems to be staying north of W. Genesee St. in the area between W. Genesee St. to the south, Milton Ave. to the north, Knowell Rd. to the West and Vanida Dr./Hinsdale Rd. to the east. This is an open area, especially around the school, bordered by treelines and residential neighborhoods.
Tina hasn't crossed W. Genesee St. into the Weatheridge area, and hasn't crossed Knowell Rd. into the Orchard Village area. She also doesn't appear to have crossed Hinsdale Rd. to move east toward Fairmount. She is afraid of traffic, but as she gets more tired and hungry, that could change. Around 11:30am on Wednesday, Tina's owner's spotted her near Knowell Rd. and Stonehedge school, along the tree line.
Tina is wearing an identification tag on her collar. She is also micro-chipped. The dog's owners have placed posters in the neighborhood from Hinsdale Rd. to Yorkshire Blvd. and Milton Ave. to W. Genesee St. in Camillus, west of Syracuse, and alerted Camillus Waste Management staff who are doing trash pickup in the area.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Syracuse Dog Training thanks all of the readers and neighbors in Camillus who helped locate Tina until she could be convinced to come to her owner.

Glad the hear the dog was reunited with the owners!
Me, too, Erin - I was torn between going out to help the search and staying at the computer to publish updates. I figured I could help more by being another phone number people could call. I'm very glad they found her, and were able to approach her when they did.
