Missing children in Daytona Beach found safe

Two children were found safe in Daytona Beach Tuesday afternoon, after being reported missing. A report on the Daytona Beach Police website said the 3-year old and 4-year old were reported missing from a home on Minerva Road around 1 p.m. Daytona Beach Police, Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies and helicopter, the Volusia County Beach Patrol and Daytona Beach Shores Police scoured the beachside south of Silver Beach looking for the two children. At around 2:40 Tuesday afternoon, the children were found in a locked car in the backyard of their home. In an updated press release later in the day, police said the children were found sleeping in the car under the dash.
