Missing Chicago student Pravis Varughese found

Missing Chicago student Pravis Varughese was found dead Tuesday morning. WSIL3 News reports Feb. 18 that his body was in a wooded area on the 1400 block of East Main Street in Carbondale. The Southern Illionois University student was last seen Wednesday at a party on West College Street.

Varughese, 19, was discovered dead around 9:45 a.m.

According to police Varughese got a ride from someone at that party but got into a "dispute and left the car, running into the woods."

Before the missing Chicago student was found, crews were spotted searching for him near Kohl's and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Cause of the student's death is unknown. An autopsy will be conducted to learn more details. Apparently no foul play is suspected.

It is tragic that missing Chicago student Pravis Varughese was found dead instead of alive. It is unclear how he wound up in the wooded area by himself.
