Missing Black Cat in Long Beach, Calf. (Photos)

Update: Thursday, March 7, 2013, marking exactly three weeks since 'Stray' has been missing, she returned home early in the morning. There are no leads as to where she has been, but her family is just grateful she is home. She appears to be in good health, but is catching up one some well deserved meals. Her family would like to thank everyone who has shared Strays story and aided in the search for her.

February 14, 2013, a Long Beach, Calif. family realized what many pet owners dread, their beloved cat had gone missing. Six years prior the family had found the tiny black kitten flea ridden, emaciated, extremely fearful of people, and with what appeared to be a broken tail. The kitten was taken to a local veterinarian hospital immediately to be examined. It was discovered that her assumed broken tail was actually a kink tail that she was born with, and it posed no health threat to kitten. She simply looked like she had a short puffy tail. She was treated for her fleas and released back to the family with orders to feed her a healthy stable diet. Lovingly a name was chosen for her, Stray.

Over the years Stray never got over her fear of people. She would hiss, and run away from anyone that came near her. She kept her distance in the back yard, but always gave sweet meows upon her family’s arrivals home. Stray’s routine was like clockwork, waiting to be fed by the door first thing in the morning and then sleeping with the family dog. She would watch the sun set while sitting on the fence, and ended the evening sleeping in the same place.

Stray is greatly loved and deeply missed by her human companions. They continue to search the streets and check local shelters in hopes that Stray will be able to come home. They kindly ask if anyone has any information on Stray’s whereabouts, or have sighted her, to please notify them via email at BMexaminer@aol.com

Stray is a Domestic, spayed female cat, six years old with black medium/long hair. She has a kinked tail that looks curved and it is shorter than the average cat’s tail. She will not come up to strangers, and will not allow anyone to touch her.

Stray has been missing for thirteen days, but hopes are still high in finding her.
