Avonte Oquendo is still missing, and his family is working on new approaches to finding the missing autistic teen. On Dec. 9 Avonte's brother Danny shared the latest via his Instagram page.

Oquendo has been missing for more than two months now. Avonte Oquendo left his New York school on Oct. 4 and sadly has not been seen since. Avonte is 14, but is autistic and mute and thus does not seem like a typical teenager.

While there are other community-managed Facebook pages that have been tirelessly committed to spread the word on Avonte's case, this is now the official page supported by the family.

Danny Oquendo recently shared that the FBI has now taken over the investigation into Avonte Oquendo's case. Danny wrote, “Avonte, you are loved, you are missed, and may you be reunited with your family soon.”

Anybody who has any information on Avonte Oquendo should call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
