Miss Venezuela 2005 shot dead: Family fell prey to killers on isolated road

Former Miss Venezuela 2005 and a popular soap-opera actress was shot to death alongside her ex-husband during a robbery attempt. Her ex, Thomas Henry Berry, was also killed in the shooting and their five-year-old daughter was shot and wounded, according to Fox News live on Wednesday morning Jan. 8.

29-year-old Monica Spear was riding in the car with her ex-husband and five-year-old daughter coming back from a vacation in the mountains when they ran over something shiny in the road. They were left with punctured their tires on an isolated stretch of road in Venezuela, according to today.

Fox News live reports that a tow truck showed up and chained their car. It was then that the men tried to rob them. Spear and Berry locked themselves and their daughter in the car to try and get away from the criminals, but the locked car was no protection from the bullets of a gun.

Spear and Berry were shot and killed and their little girl, who was also shot, was injured, but survived. The slayings have the people of Venezuela outraged. The violence in Venezuela is nothing new, it is commonplace today.

Maya, Spear’s daughter, was treated in the hospital for a leg wound and released to relatives in Caracas, report authorities today. Can you imagine the last few moments this family had together and how terrified they must have been? This is the nightmares that horror movies are made of.
