Less than 24 hours after being declared Miss USA, Rima Fakih is already reportedly under investigation for her participation in a radio-sponsored "competition" back in 2007. According to Radar Online, pageant officials have asked Detroit radio show Mojo in the Morning for unreleased photos of Fakih in a nightclub, participating in a pole-dancing competition.
"Mojo" had this to say on the matter:
“[They] asked for any unreleased photos that we have. We do have a few, but we're not sending them out. When we asked if everything was ok and if it would affect her crown, they said they couldn't make a comment on that right now."
The host goes on to say that Fakih won a number of "adult products" thanks to her participation in the contest, which there are already photos of across the internet.
So will this cause her to go the way of Carrie Prejean? A pageant official told Radar that it probably will not happen:
"This is not a big deal and isn’t going to affect her crown. Miss USA Rima Fakih is a great representative of Miss USA."
The real test of Fakih's past "competitions" will be how long they stay in the headlines -- if the controversy lingers, she could be in more trouble.
Should Fakih be stripped of her crown due to pole-dancing? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest news. To view photos from the Miss USA competition, follow the link here.
