Miss Teen USA Logan West has agreed to help Reach Out and Read, an early literacy program.
The announcement was made in a Feb. 8 news release emailed by PR Web.
Through Reach Out and Read, pediatricians provide children with free age-appropriate books at each checkup, according to the news release, and work with parents and caretakers to make reading aloud with their children part of a daily routine.
This is the third year of Reach Out and Read of Greater New York’s partnership with the Miss Universe Organization, the producers of the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.
“I had such a wonderful time reading to the children, and I am thankful to be a part of a program that is exposing children to books,” West said. “I was fortunate to have parents who read to me as a child, so I hope that every child has the same experience I did.”
