According to Suzanne Loudermilk of In Good Taste, Miss Shirley's, the locally renowend breakfast hotspot, will bring its Southern inspired cuisine to the streets of Baltimore on the city's newest food truck. The food truck scene is expanding, despite the recent debate between the trucks and the city. The mayor recently granted the food trucks a reprieve to operate in the city after Alvin O. Gillard (chairman of the city's street vending board) told two city trucks they'd have to cease operations without a street vending license. The licenses won't be available until June, which would leave the trucks without the ability to operate in the city until that time.
Miss Shirley's isn't afraid of the recent spat and already has parking plans in mind. Menu items will include fried green tomatoes, sweet potato fries, gumbo, Maryland omelet (with crab), blueberry pancakes, crab cake sandwiches, California Chicken BLT sandwiches, and more.
