Miss Piggy is going to be helping host one of the biggest awards shows in London. The cast member of The Muppets won’t be putting on an accent for the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, but she will have an extraordinary draw as fans watch around the world. Announcing Miss Piggy’s intentions to be host of the red carpet on Monday, the pig from The Muppets has already challenged George Clooney to a wrestling match.
“I don’t wrestle girlfriends. No. However, if George [Clooney] wants to wrestle, bring it on! Best two out of three falls? Winner gets a dinner,” said Miss Piggy in the Hollywood Reporter. Her intentions of interviewing the stars that walk down the red carpet have the fans delighted.
The wonderful opportunity for The Muppets character to be seen by fans in Europe definitely has the audience in America miffed. Huge Muppets fans in the United States, the characters would have been adored at any number of award shows where the red carpet portion could have been co-hosted by Miss Piggy but instead the time on award shows was with a country production which can’t even be remotely compared to a high touting event like the Bafta’s.
Hopefully Miss Piggy will be considered for other US award shows in the future. She would be exquisite on the Oscars red carpet and the fans would love her too.
