Miss Oklahoma is preliminary Miss America talent winner (Photos)

Miss Oklahoma Alicia Clifton won Tuesday night’s preliminary talent competition, Miss America Pageant officials announced Wednesday.

Clifton is a tap dancer who danced to “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

The win earned Clifton a $2,000 Amway college scholarship.

Clifton, 21, is from Oklahoma City.

She was graduated from Moore High School has attended the University of Oklahoma.

Her goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism and to become a national news anchor.

Her academic honors include University of Oklahoma Honors Scholar, University of Oklahoma President's Honor Roll and the President's Outstanding Academic Excellence Award.

Before being crowned Miss Oklahoma 2012, she was the reigning Miss Edmond LibertyFest.

"Alicia first became involved in the Miss Oklahoma Teen Pageant system at the age of 13 by entering the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen competition in 2005," according to her official pageant biography. "She held many titles over the years and after winning Miss Tulsa Outstanding Teen, went on to be crowned Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen in 2008. Alicia first competed in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in 2010 where she won awards for Rookie and Overall Talent, Rookie Interview, Rookie of the Year, a finalist for The Kiwanis Community Service award, and was second runner-up to Miss Oklahoma Emoly West. In 2011, Alicia was the Preliminary Talent Winner, the interview winner, a finalist for The Kiwanis Community Service award, and second runner-up to Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson. In her third year, and being crowned Miss Oklahoma 2012, Alicia again was the recipient of the talent award and took third place in The Kiwanis Community Service award."
