More than 100 contestants are getting ready to go on stage Saturday in the preliminary competition for Miss New York USA.
Preliminary competition begins in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions at 7 p.m. ET in the Purchase College Performing Arts Center.
Final competition begins at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Both events will be webcast live on Pageant Vision.
Winner of the pageant will represent New York at the Miss USA Pageant. If she wins the national pageant, she will represent the United States at the Miss Universe Pageant.
The Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants are co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC Universal.
Reigning royalty is Miss New York USA 2012 Johanna Sambuchi, who was a member of the Class of 2012 at Wagner College, where she earned a master’s degree in business administration.
"Two of my favorite things that I’ve done as Miss New York USA were being able to celebrate my Dominican Independence Day with Univision and reading to children between the ages of 4 and 7 at the Block Institute in honor of Read Across America Day," according to her pageant profile.
