Most pageant queens would agree that pageantry is a sport. There is always competitiveness and cattiness in every sport, but the latest buzz around Miss New York America, Nina Davuluri may cost her a shot at the Miss America crown.
According to E! Online yesterday another beauty queen tape recoreded Davuluri attacking Hagan's weight after she won her title on July 16. According to reports, "Davuluri invited friends back to her hotel room after her win," a source told the paper. "A girl in the next room overheard their conversation, and was so offended she decided to tape part of it. A friend of Davuluri's was supposedly heard making racist remarks, and Davuluri is allegedly heard on the tape blasting Miss America, 'Mallory's fat as [bleep].'
It is being reported that Davuluri sent Havana a message kn facebook that stated, "I want to apologize for the awful statements made by people in my room...There were people who claimed to be my supporters and said things I never agreed with, nor supported...I was never a part of the words or statements that may have been hurtful...I'm sorry if someone said something that was inappropriate."
This year's Miss America pageant will be aired live on Sunday on ABC. Is this alleged recording fact or fiction? This isn't the first time vicious rumors have been released to sabatoge a queen. Folks are speculating whether or not this negative press will cost Davuluri a chance at the crown.
