The Miss America 2014 pageant was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Chris Harrison and Lara Spencer hosted the pageant which was broadcast live on ABC. Fifty-three women competed for the title of Miss America 2014 on September 15, 2013.
Miss Minnesota, Rebecca Yeh, made it through all the rounds of the competition. For the swimwear competition, she wore a white two-piece swimsuit by Catalina Swimwear. She looked stunning in her slim fitting purplish blue evening gown with a sequined top. For the talent portion of the competition, she played the violin. When it was time for the final question, judge Lance Bass asked her about wives who remain faithful to unfaithful husbands. She said she agreed with the women who chose to stay in the marriage they committed themselves to, but she thought the men in those relationships needed to get their act together.
When the final five contestants were waiting to find out which one would be the new Miss America, it was announced that Yeh was fourth runner-up. The winner of a $50,000 scholarship and the title of Miss America 2014 was Miss New York, Nina Davuluri. This is the second year in a row that Miss New York has won the Miss America competition.
