Dayton OH – September 5, 2009

Have you ever seen a baby pig up close? Did you touch him?

If you haven’t seen a rooster crowing live, or seen more of a rabbit besides that ‘lucky’ foot on a chain, you still have time.

At the Montgomery County Fair, you can do all that, and more.

Admission is $5 at the gate, children 12 and under free with paying adult. If you have a large family or lots of friends, use the $20 carload pass. (Grandstand not included.)

The gates are open from 8am to 10pm daily through Monday, September 7th, with the Jungle Island Petting Zoo, Wambold Circus Menagerie, and the Masters of the Chainsaw open all day every day except opening day.

Entertainment includes

Today you'll find the cute kids contest at 4pm, Miss Miami Valley Pageant at 6pm, truck and tractor pulls also start at 6pm, with a $5 charge in the grandstands, and youth games by Farm Bureau at 8:30pm.

Sunday they'll have a Masters of the Chain Saw carving auction at 5:30pm, crowning of the Junior Fair King and Queen at 6pm, a demolition derby with a $5 charge in the grandstands, and a square dance at 8pm.

Monday they have the Sale of Champions at 2pm, Live Your Dream Band at 6 and 7:30pm, and another demolition derby ($5 charge) in the grandstands at 7pm.

The Montgomery County Fairgrounds is located at 1043 South Main Street, just outside of downtown Dayton, and across from Miami Valley Hospital.
