Miss Jessie's curly hair products now available at Target

Miss Jessie’s Original took the curly hair market by storm in 2004 when stylist sisters Titi and Miko Branch began this coveted line named after their southern matriarch grandmother. Now years later, those with cork-screw, bologna or waves rejoice in finding Miss Jessie's at their local Target store.

Born to a Japanese mother and African-American father Titi and Miko had heads full of multi textured locks. Since Japanese salons weren’t an option and salons that catered to African-American hair only tamed, didn't celebrate, what they considered unruly hair, the sisters had no choice. They took matters into their own hands and opened their salon in 1997. Known for their expertise in styling curly, kinky, and wavy hair, the dynamic duo’s Salon soon became the go-to place for natural and naturally curly hair attracting clients nationwide. A likely progression, the ladies created a line of hair products that have become the go-to for curly haired folks.

The following curly-haired faves are available at Target: Curly Pudding (16oz), Baby Buttercreme (16oz), Curly Buttercreme (8oz), Crème de la Crème (12oz), Crème de la Curl (12oz), Curly Meringue (8oz), Stretch Silkening Crème (8oz), Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo (8oz), Quick Curls (8oz), and Rapid Recovery (12oz).

THOUGHTS ON THE “MISS JESSIE’S” PRODUCTS:

1)The “MISS JESSIE’S” products USE MINERAL OIL
& PETROLATUM (both of which damage both
hair & skin) AS two of the KEY INGREDIENTS

    2) Titi & Miko – THE OWNER’S of the “Miss Jessie’s”
product line (AND most of THE CLIENTS they choose
to photograph) -- achieve their hair-styles because
they USE what they call a ”Silkener”' (which is simply
a mild relaxer / texturizer & made of CHEMICALS).

    3) The same results can be achieved for a fraction of
the cost by going to a store and purchasing / applying
the same dangerous (ex. relaxer / texturizer) as well
as damaging (ex. mineral oil / petrolatum) products.

    4) People should save their money (and hair) by avoiding
    the cheaply-made / expensively-sold products (such as
the ”Miss Jessie’s” line) that contain worthless and
harmful ingredients such as mineral oil / petrolatum
and / or are “chemically-dependent” to achieve results.
