Miss District of Columbia awarded $2,000 Miss America scholarship

Stephanie Williams on Saturday stepped a little closer to her dream of becoming a physician.

Williams, 23, was awarded a $2,000 from fourpoints, the largest print publication devoted to coverage of national, state and local pageants affiliated with the Miss America Organization.

This is in addition to the scholarship money Williams will receive as a contestant.

“All 53 contestants get at least $3,000” according to Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron.

Williams graduated summa cum laude from Wagner College with a 4.0 grade point average, according to the Miss America Organization.

She was a member of the college chemistry honors program.

Williams has been accepted the George Washington University School of Medicine.

Her pageant platform issue is A Dose of Prevention: Smart Medicine for What Ails America.
