Miss Delaware Teen USA, Melissa King, resigned from her post on Feb. 26, 2013 after being questioned about appearing in a sex video on an amateur porn site.
The video was posted on GirlsDoPorn.com (NSFW) and reportedly stars Melissa King, 18. However, Delaware Online reports that King spoke to the News Journal about the video and she denied appearing in it.
She was then asked if the woman in the video was just someone who closely resembled her. King responded, "Um, I’d rather not be talking right now, but yeah."
Gawker reports that they received an "anonymous tip" that indicates that the King, who became Miss Delaware Teen in November, is the person in the video.
"...before telling an off-camera interviewer that she decided to go into porn because she needed the money. The woman then says she participates in beauty pageants, though she doesn't reveal in which state she competes." - Gawker
Pageant spokeswoman Dara Bush tells Delaware Online in an email, "The Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King’s attorney.”
She states that a runner-up will replace King. Assumably that is Hailey Lawler who was the runner-up in the November pageant.
Gawker speculates that if King is the teen in the sex video, it was likely made "around the time she won Miss Teen Delaware International 2012, the title she held immediately before winning Miss Teen Delaware USA."
