Excitement is building in Connecticut as contestants for Miss Connecticut USA 2012 and Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2012 prepare to travel to Farmington.
The young women will compete for the titles, Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Hartford Marriott Farmington Hotel.
Winner of the Miss Connecticut USA competition travels to Las Vegas next summer to compete for the Miss USA crown. Winner of that crown will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant.
Regina Turner is the reigning Miss Connecticut USA 2011.

Winner of the Miss Connecticut Teen USA pageant will represent her state at the Miss Teen USA pageant. In recent years, the national pageant has been held in the Bahamas.
The reigning Miss Connecticut Teen USA is Samantha Sojka.
