Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady to co-host daily TV show

One of the Miss America 2011 pageant’s most-recognizable faces has a new gig as co-host of a morning TV show.

Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady, known as the yodeling ventriloquist who was first runner-up at the national competition in Las Vegas, will co-host “THV This Morning,” KTHV-TV announced Wednesday.

Eady, 23, will continue to fulfill her duties as Miss Arkansas and will join the television program full-time in August, the station announced.

She is no stranger to television. She was crowned Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen in 2004 and invited to perform her ventriloquist act at the 2007 Miss America pageant.

Eady performed “I Want to be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” with two wooden friends in her arms at the 2011 pageant, which resulted in her being invited to perform on Dave Letterman’s late-night television program.

According to her official biography, Eady was graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2010, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and speech communications.
