Miss America featured in New York Post

Mallory Hytes Hagan, Miss America 2013 was recently spotted wearing a "Brooklyn" t-shirt by Sportique and now we know why. The siting was due to an exclusive interview with the New York Post. You think you know everything about America’s queen? Well you have no idea. In this interview Mallory shows her real side by talking about the glitz, glam, and struggle of being a keeper of the crown. "“It’s a tough balance, because you want to be as real and relatable as possible, but it’s not about you. It’s about representing the organization as a whole,” Mallory told the New York Post. “I love it . . . but I knew it was a job, and it was going to be long hours.”

Mallory was crowned Miss America 2013 on Jan. 12, 2013 in Las Vegas after competing as Miss New York 2012. In this exclusive interview, Mallory also speaks about her desire to return to Brooklyn, meeting Beyonce, and waiting tables.

Mallory has been traveling more than 20,000 miles each month since being crowned advocating for her platform "Stop it Now-Child Sexual Abuse" and acting as the official National Goodwill Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. She is also a spokesperson for Amway which provided a $50,000 scholarship for Mallory to use toward her educational expenses.
