Miss America contestants enjoy new 'Brownie Sundae' dessert

For the fifth consecutive year, The Miss America Pageant will take place at The Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on, Saturday, January 30. The show will be broadcast live on TLC at 8 p.m (EST, tape delayed (PST). This year for the first time in 50 years Miss Puerto Rico will be among the contestants vying for the crown of Miss America 2010.
After their arrival in Las Vegas, the contestants took time away from their busy schedule of preliminary competitions to make personal appearances at various locations in Las Vegas. It was an exciting and fun time for the lovely young woman, many of whom had never been to the entertainment capital of the world.
On Saturday evening, January 23, all 53 contestants paid a vist to the Flamingo Avenue location of Buca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant where they were treated to a fabulous dinner. They also joined general manager, aka, "paisano partner" Ryan Smith, in helping to unveil, and sample, a new sinfully delicious dessert, a 'Brownie Sundae' made of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, brownie chunks and whip cream, that will be added to Buca’s menu nationwide next month.
As a special surprise for two of the contestants who share the same birthday on January 23, Miss Pennsylvania, Shannon Boyle and Miss Delaware, Heather Lehman were presented with a candle lit birthday cake. Lehman turned 21 and Doyle 25.
