The Miss America 2014 results are in, and the winner who was crowned by Miss America 2013 was Miss New York, Nina Davuluri, according to a Sept. 15 Ledger Enquirer report. She was chosen from the final five contestants who were Miss Minnesota, 4th runner up, Miss Florida, 3rd runner up, Miss Oklahoma 2nd runner up, and Miss California was the 1st runner up.
The Miss America 2014 pageant returned to Atlantic City this year after six years in Las Vegas, and the City was thrilled to have the pageant back in their recovering city. This year is the second year in a row that Miss New York took the Miss America crown, which must be special for their state.
Before the winner was announced, Miss New York commented that she and Miss California were making history by both being Asian Americans as the final two contestants in the Miss America pageant.
While Oklahoma City viewers who tuned into ABC channel 5 had to be somewhat disappointed that Miss Oklahoma did not win, it was still wonderful to see her be named the 2nd runner up in the pageant. She had an excellent showing in the historical pageant.
