For the second year in a row, the pageant will be held in Atlantic City. For several years, the pageant was held in Las Vegas, but pageant officials decided to return it to its traditional New Jersey home in 2013.
The final night of competition will be broadcast live on the ABC television network beginning at 9 p.m. EST.
There will be three nights of preliminary competition in the categories of swimsuit, evening gown and talent from Sept. 9-11. The preliminary competitions will be at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
On Sept. 13, contestants will participate in the "Show us Your Shoes Parade" on the Boardwalk.
The pageant is more popular than it has been in several years, according to Sam Haskell, leader of the Miss America Organization.
"Nearly 10 million viewers tuned in (last year) to see Nina Davuluri crowned as the first Miss America of Indian descent," Haskell said. "We are excited as plans unfold for a new television event and we are so thrilled to build on the success of being home in Atlantic City."
Tickets for the 2015 Miss America Competition will go on sale in the Spring.
