Tonight Jan. 12, 50 state crowned women, plus three women from the District of Columbia, U.S Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico will compete for the ultimate Miss America title and crown, and a $50,000 scholarship.
The 92nd annual Miss America Pageant will be held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The contestants have already gone through the preliminary competitions, including one-on-one interviews with the judges. Preliminary winners, include Miss South Carolina, Miss Alabama, Miss North Dakota, Miss Washington and Miss Oklahoma.
16 finalists will be announced tonight and will compete in swimsuit, evening wear, talent and interview competitions. The top five finalists will proceed to the interview round. At the event, the reigning Miss America, 24-year-old Laura Kaeppeler, will make way for the new Miss America.
The 2013 Miss America Pageant will be hosted by Brooke Burke-Charvet and Chris Harrison, and airs on ABC on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. EST.
