Mirrodin Besieged Mirromancy Intro Pack

Magic: The Gathering's Mirrodin Besieged Mirromancy Intro Pack is essentially a basic burn deck revolving around the foil Galvanoth and rare Red Sun's Zenith that come with the package.  If your first thought was, "why include Red Sun's Zenith with Galvanoth in the same deck?", you're not alone.

This deck doesn't introduce anything new or exciting from the world of Mirrodin and simply attempts to be a standard-issue red burn deck with a lot of one-of's and bland creatures.  Luckily, it gives us a good place to start.

Mirrodin Besieged Intro Packs come with 60 cards and are ready to play right out of the box, and come with an additional booster pack so you can customize your deck a little.  Without further ado, here's the decklist for Mirromancy:

2x Iron Myr

1x Silver Myr

2x Blisterstick Shaman

2x Koth's Courier

2x Neurok Commando

2x Peace Strider

2x Ogre Resister

1x Fire Servant

1x Galvanoth

2x Lumengrid Gargoyle

1x Crush

1x Lightning Bolt

1x Preordain

2x Arc Trail

1x Burn the Impure

1x Turn the Tide

1x Rally the Forces

2x Call to Mind

2x Foresee

1x Melt Terrain

1x Sleep

2x Lava Axe

2x Quicksilver Geyser

1x Red Sun's Zenith

13 Mountain

11 Island

Where to even begin.  Of all the Mirrodin Besieged Intro Packs, Mirromancy misses the mark by the most.  Is it a burn deck? Is it a random assortment of bland creatures with combat tricks?  And what in the name of Geth is the lone Melt Terrain doing in here?  Mirrodin may never know. Let's give this maligned Mirromancer a makeover.

What to keep: The Call to Minds, the burn spells, and the Foresees.

What to lose: Koth's Courier, Peace Strider, Ogre Resister, Lumengrid Gargoyle, Rallly the Forces, Turn the Tide, Melt Terrain.

Let's add a lot of potential to the Mirromancy Intro Pack for just a few bucks.  Add a few more Lightning Bolts, Galvanoths, and Fire Servants.  How about a Cerebral Eruption or two?  Maybe some Chandra's Outrage or Searing Blaze, just get whatever burn spells you can to take advantage of your Galvanoths and Fire Servants.  You can even throw in a few Scroll Thieves, the way should be clear for your Commandos and Thieves to loot quite well.

Part of Mirromancy looks like it was just dedicated to showing off some of Mirrodin's new creatures where they don't belong.  Add more potent sorceries and instants to get your Galvanoth really excited and start achieving what the deck's presumable purpose was.

Attacking with Koth's Courier and windmill slamming a Rally the Forces isn't likely the vision of anyone purporting to create a deck around our flashy red firebug, but there is a framework here to work with when designing your masterpiece.

With a bit of editing, your Mirromancy Intro Pack will be able to function as an effective burn beatdown, providing situations where you will randomly be able to defeat an opponent out of nowhere with a Galvanoth and Fire Servant on the table.
