Miranda Lambert will perform at ‘The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards’

Miranda Lambert spread the word about a surprise performance on her Facebook page on Jan. 24, 2014 posting “It was announced today that Miranda will perform a special In Memoriam tribute to Phil Everly with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day! Set your DVR! Miranda will perform on The GRAMMYs! She will be joined by Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong for a tribute to the late Phil Everly. Don't miss this once in a lifetime performance Sunday at 8pm EST on CBS.”

Lambert and Armstrong are both up for awards with Lambert earning a nomination in the Best Country Solo Performance category for "Mama's Broken Heart" and Armstrong is in the running with his group Green Day in the Best Music Film category. Madonna has also been added to the list of performers on the big night.

Previously announced performers set to take the stage at “The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards” include Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson and Lambert’s husband Blake Shelton. A special performance with Merle Haggard will also be featured and the spotlight will be put on the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Kris Kristofferson.

Plus a performance from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be happening on the night they will be receiving the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award that is being presented to The Beatles during the ceremony taking place on CBS beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST Jan. 26, 2014 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
