Proud Texan-turned-country star Miranda Lambert has chosen the stage of the famed Ryman Auditorium as the local venue where she'll debut music from her forthcoming CD come Sept. 24 in a show dubbed Revolution at the Ryman.
The blond-tressed singer-songwriter's much-anticipated third CD, Revolution, is set for relese Sept. 29. Lambert, however, has opted to give Music City fans a first taste--or listen--in a live setting with her Ryman performance.
Produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke, Revolution, just like Lambert's past offerings, will feature plenty of tunes penned by the two-time Grammy nominee.
In fact, she wrote or co-wrote all but three of the 15-track album's songs and worked with a wide sampling of fellow artists and tunesmiths on the project, including boyfriend/country star Blake Shelton, Ashley Monroe, Natalie Hemby and Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley, the latter of whom lends background vocals on "Love Song."
As for the trio of tracks Lambert didn't author, she looked to favorite songsmiths John Prine, Julie Miller, Allen Shamblin and Tom Douglas to round out the album that she wants Nashvillians to hear first.
"I have been blessed with so many amazing things in my career," Lambert says. "Every day I get to do what I love most and along the way I've gotten to meet my heroes and been honored by my peers with awards I only dreamed about. I am so excited to share this new music with the folks in Nashville who have supported me since my debut."
Lambert's full road band will join her for the Sept. 24 show, where--in addition to playing the entire Revolution CD in sequence--she'll close her performance with hits from the critically acclaimed Kerosene CD and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend record, which earned ACM Album of the Year honors.
With two former No. 1-ranked country albums to her credit, hopes are appropriately high for the Revolution CD, which Lambert will tour in support of as a headliner this fall and winter. In the meantime, though, she continues to open for superstar Kenny Chesney.
Tickets for Revolution at the Ryman will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Ryman Auditorium and via Ticketmaster outlets.
