Miranda Lambert congratulates Carrie Underwood

Miranda Lambert sent her congratulations to Carrie Underwood following Underwood’s Labor Day announcement. Taste of Country reported on Sept. 2, 2014 that Underwood’s duet partner on “Somethin’ Bad” said her congratulations to the mother to be and her husband Mike Fisher on Twitter.

Underwood and Fisher shared the news on Labor Day that the couple is expecting their first child. The Twitter announcement included a photo of the couple’s dogs Ace and Penny wearing t-shirts saying "I'm going to be a big brother" and "I'm going to be a big sister” to spread the big news.

Lambert had fun in her congratulations message calling Underwood Louise referring to their hit video for “Somethin’ Bad” that portrays the singers in a “Thelma and Louise” setting. Lambert posted “Big congrats to my friend @carrieunderwood (aka Louise) on her big news!!!!” adding “So happy for her and Mike!” on Twitter.

Now Underwood and Lambert both have something special to celebrate. The pair earned two nominations together for “Somethin’ Bad” at “The 48th Annual CMA Awards.” The two will be competing for the win together and against each other in several categories. They are both in the running to be named Female Vocalist of the Year where they face Kacey Musgraves, Martina McBride and Taylor Swift for the trophy.

Underwood and Lambert are nominated together for “Somethin’ Bad” for Musical Event of the Year title where Lambert will be competing against herself for her hit with Keith Urban titled “We Were Us.” Tim McGraw and Faith Hill with "Meanwhile Back at Mama's," Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton for "You Can't Make Old Friends" and “Bakersfield” from Vince Gill and Paul Franklin were also announced as nominees in the Musical Event of the Year category.

Lambert and Underwood’s hit “Somethin’ Bad” also earned a nomination in the Music Video of the Year category where Lambert faces herself once again as a double nominee where she will also go for the Music Video of the Year trophy with her hit "Automatic." Lambert and Underwood will be competing against Lady Antebellum for “Bartender,” “Drunk On A Plane” from Dierks Bentley and Kacey Musgraves with “Follow Your Arrow.”

Lambert received nine nominations overall when Little Big Town and Darius Rucker announced the nominees for “The 48th Annual CMA Awards” which are set to take place on Nov. 5, 2014 on ABC with Underwood and Brad Paisley taking the CMA stage together once again to co-host the show for the seventh straight year.
