On June 25 American country music singer Miranda Lambert released the official music video for her single "Somethin' Bad" on CMT's website. The song is a duet with Carrie Underwood, who is also featured in the video. The video was directed by Trey Fanjoy, who previously worked with Lambert on her "Automatic," "Over You," "Mama's Broken Heart," and "Fastest Girl in Town" music videos. The storyline based video begins with Underwood and Lambert standing in front of a police lineup backdrop while singing. The video then kicks into the storyline in which Lambert and Underwood work at a bank. They rob the bank they work at by breaking in and stealing jewelry from a safety deposit box. After they rob the bank, it blows up.
In the "Somethin' Bad" music video Lambert and Underwood are also seen playing in a private poker game. They cheat to victory at the table, which angers one of their opponents. The video ends with the ladies getting on a private helicopter.
The song "Somethin' Bad" is the second single from Miranda Lambert's fifth solo studio album, "Platinum". The album was released on June 3 via RCA Nashville and it debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. It was Lambert's first album to reach No. 1 on that chart. Thus far Lambert's single "Somethin' Bad" has reached No. 5 on the U.S. Country Songs chart, and No. 39 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
