Beautiful crosses of light were seen and filmed worldwide from 1989 to 2003 in people's homes and churches. In September 1995, milk drinking statues of Hindu gods baffled many thousands of people in India. From miraculous healing wells in Germany and Mexico to statues that move and weep real tears, it is obvious to anyone who has the "eyes to see" that there are extraordinary things happening all over globe.

In 2001, while on a bus to Veracruz, Mexico, a passenger asked the bus driver to stop in order to take a photograph of an unusual beam of light in the distance. Only after developing the film did the photographer notice a mysterious figure emerging from this light. A similar event also occured in 2003. An intense light beam came from the sky and caught the attention of bus passengers on their way to New Mexico. Signs of the imminent return of Christ?
Share International magazine has covered many such types of miracles and signs over the years. According to Scottish author and lecturer Benjamin Creme, chief editor of Share International, these are all signs pointing to the imminent appearance of Maitreya, the World Teacher for the new age now beginning. The name "Maitreya" is simply one of many names for the teacher known as Christ by Christians, or Maitreya Buddha by Buddhists. He is waited equally by all the other religions under their various names, though he is concerned with right relationship, not religious dogma. He comes to inspire humanity to create a brilliant new civilization where major crises like world hunger, environmental degradation and war among nations can finally be resolved and ended forever.
"The signs of Maitreya's presence in the world will continue to increase...
He is going to flood the world with such happenings that the mind
can never comprehend it."
This prediction was made on June 1, 1988 by one of Maitreya's close associates in London. Since then, millions of people, from every religious and cultural background, have experienced 'miraculous' phenomena: from visions of the Virgin Mary to apparitions of Christ or the Buddha; from religious symbols appearing in foods to a Nepalese girl emitting shards of glass from her forehead without injury; from angels to vanishing hitchhikers...and many, many more examples.

A few years ago, a particularly extraordinary set of miracles happened. After a woman in Spain had cleaned her bathroom mirror, an unusual three-dimensional image appeared with photographic detail. Share International first published it in October 2001, and it happened again in Spain in 2003. Similar instances of the handprint have also been discovered in Japan and elsewhere. Just recently a man in New York found one on his computer monitor screen. These 'hands' are calling cards, per se, to invoke Maitreya's healing energy and help (subject to Karmic Law).
Maitreya has been in London since 1977, gradually making himself known to more and more people. He is not a religious leader as many assume. He comes as a modern man concerned with modern day problems: millions starving in a world of plentiful food, nations still using war to solve problems, a planet suffering from pollution and abuse, and the need for humanity to see itself as one giant family, living together in interdependence.
As Maitreya has said:
"Nothing which I say will be bizarre or strange....As a brother among brothers I shall speak for you all, voice aloud your aspirations and hopes; make known the desire of all men for a world at peace, for a just and noble readiness to share; for the creation of a society based on freedom and love."
